Twenty-six Y3s returned to school last night in their PJs and were treated to a ‘snuggle up’ time in the library where they received hot chocolate, biscuits and a range of stories, read by Mrs Guyett-Smith, Mrs Mulhall and Mrs Wheal. Whilst this was happening, the children’s adults spent time in The Globe with Mrs Kidd (our super lovely librarian) and Janice from the Library Service. The adults were also read a story but spent the majority of the time discussing the benefits of reading, how to encourage reading with your child and resources available the local library. All children enjoyed having the opportunity to read several books with their adult in addition to taking some to read at home. Mrs Kidd had also prepared a small gift for every child who joined us last night. Here is a big THANK YOU to Janice and Mrs Kidd for organising the event and the staff for giving their time to support with the running of the evening. We are looking forward to repeating the evening for Y4 after half term on Tuesday 24th February.
