Tuesday after school saw a rearranged match for the Gomer Girls football team. Holbrook visited for another important game as Gomer try to move closer to the league title.
The team knew that they would be given a test by Holbrook as they had fought out a goalless draw in a recent tournament. It turned out to be a tough game but Gomer were really well organised and all players stuck to their tasks brilliantly. A tight first half was edged by Gomer thanks to another goal by Libby.
In the second half Gomer continued to play really well. They were awarded a penalty for handball which Libby converted and a 3-0 victory was rounded off by another Libby goal, after a great through ball from Freya.
This was one of the best performances of the season and sets the team up nicely for the crunch game on Thursday against Grange.
All players deserve huge praise and player of the match was………Cassie. Well done!
