Friday 2nd October was a busy day for the new Junior Road Safety Officers.  Two year 5 children and Mrs Bottriell attended the annual training day at the Grand  Harbour Hotel in Southampton.
The day started with the new year 5 JRSO’s presenting to over 200 people.  A little nervous but full of enthusiasm they talked about becoming a JRSO, what their favourite event has been and what is planned for the future.  Rewarded with a big round of applause they breathed a sign of relief and headed off the enjoy the day.
Children and adults attended four fun filled workshops.  While the adults listened about the best way to support the JRSO’s in school, the children had fun making radio adverts, playing snakes and hazards, competing against each other in Quizdom and making Be Bright Be Seen T-Shirts.
Both children came out of the training full of ideas for the next year and talked all the way home about putting these ideas to the rest of the team and introducing them to Gomer Junior school.  Well done JRSO’s on a fantastic presentation and a wonderful day.
