Our local Asda Community Champion, Rachel Webber, has been running an after school Cookery Club, supported by one of our Learning Mentors, Mrs Arnold. Rachel Webber informed us that ‘Asda have been delighted to offer this opportunity to the children, providing all the ingredients and my time.’

Making use of the new school kitchen, for the last half term, the Y3 and Y4 children pictured, have made a variety of recipes including sweet and savoury dishes. The sessions are an opportunity for the children to prepare, cook and taste – a very important part of the club. Last night, our Mayor and his wife came to visit the children. They were greeted with a selection of healthy burgers. The Mayor said, ‘Cooking is such an important life skill. It is great that the children have this opportunity.’

Interested in joining the FREE after school club? If so, look out for the letters next term.
