Having found some signal in the forest, Miss Holden has been able to call us and provide some details of the Y6 Wild Child adventure. To escape the rain, the children spent Tuesday evening in cabins but transferred to tents on Wednesday evening. Following their second evening under canvas, the children are still in high spirits. Wild Child is full-on activity, not allowing the children much time to think about home. So far the children have:

  • been kayaking
  • filtered dirty water through a trouser leg (to be showcased in the Leavers Assembly)
  • cooked bread on an open fire
  • been tobogganing
  • created a tent out of basic materials (for learning not sleeping!)
  • low ropes course
  • field games
  • camp fires at night with hot chocolate
  • and more and more to come

Wow! The children are enjoying themselves, eating and having fun. They be a little muddy though…
