A text has been sent to all parents/carers outlining that school will finish at 3pm today. Please make arrangements to collect your child. There will be no after school clubs today. We are keen for the children and staff members to be able to travel home safely and in daylight. This decision has been made with careful consideration and in consultation with other local schools.
‘The ‘yellow’ weather warning for wind and snow has been upgraded to an ‘amber’ warning from midday today. We have also sought advice on the forecast for the rest of the day and overnight. We have been advised there will be very cold conditions overnight with expected snow fall, where below freezing temperatures and some further snow will mean conditions are forecast to be hazardous. We have therefore made the difficult decision to close the school on Friday 2 March.
We appreciate and value the significant efforts of the team today to operate the school as normal. We have rescheduled our World Book Day to Monday 5 March and the themed  menu will be prepared for Monday too.
Your child will be sent home with their Learning Log today so should you want home learning for during the day tomorrow, home learning tasks can be completed. This is an ideal opportunity to complete the half-termly task: geography themed.

Please travel home safely today, and keep warm over the next few days when the weather is forecast to be very chilly.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
