As Y5 lined up suitcases and bags and waved farewell to their adults, the real adventure was about to begin…..

Y5 were shown to their spacious and comfy rooms early on into their stay at Stubbington Study Centre and the children happily unpacked their cases and bags. Following this they made their way to the great chamber for an introduction about all of the amazing facilities and their house groups; Foxes, Kestrels, Badgers and Owls. After a quick tour of the grounds it was straight to the ‘Snuffle Hole’ for  lunch followed by the first real activities of the day: shelter building and mapping. Y5 had to work in teams to create a shelter that would withstand high winds, wild beasts and most of all the rain (deadly water wielding teachers!) Mapping gave the children a chance to explore, in teams, the whole grounds searching for the lost starling of Stubbington followed by free time: football, adventure playground, table tennis, pool and much much more. Dinner time shorty followed with delicious delicacies that would appeal to anyone’s pallet, especially the doughnuts! The entertainment for the evening started with a quick lesson in advert creating followed by a wildlife talk with a resident expert. Tonight, Y5 ventured quietly into the hide where they hoped to see some badgers and foxes. Everyone is wondering what exciting lay ahead………..
