Today, the whole school watched a live performance of Blighty One. The actors used puppets to tell the true story of Johnny, a young soldier who, after suffering gunshot wounds on the front line during the First World War, was twice sent home to be treated at Netley Hospital- the same hospital where, as a boy, he had delivered newspapers to the patients on its wards. The emotive performance concluded our week of remembrance following our remembrance gathering on Monday. With thanks to Unexpected Places, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund for reinforcing the message of remembrance.
