Rather than collecting Advent Calendars this year, for the food bank, we have introduced a reverse Advent Calendar. As outlined on the November newsletter, families were invited to donate ‘treat’ items for Christmas which will then be distributed by the Food Bank, as hampers, to families in need. To date, we have only had a few items donated. If you can spare some ‘treat’ items e.g. chocolate, dried fruit, crackers, drinks, cake, biscuits or some food basics too e.g. coffee, tea, pasta sauces, soups, rice pudding, stuffing mix, crackers etc please do send them in with your child by Thursday 29 November. This will enable us to get them to the Food Bank (who we supported at Harvest time) with distributing some hampers to local families. If Christmas is proving tricky to manage for your own family, please do talk to one of the LAPS team who can link you to the Food Bank at the Family Church who might be able to help you. Such enquiries will be dealt with very discreetly.
