The Gomer Mile is a safe, simple and measurable health and physical activity initiative, available to our whole school, regardless of ability. Every pupil can get involved by walking, jogging or running around their Gomer Mile Track (on the blue playground) or on the field by following the course of flags. The Gomer Mile encourages everyone to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. It’s engaging, rewarding and thoroughly heart-warming to see disengaged children excelling through sheer determination and self-motivation. There were a lot of red cheeked children and staff at Gomer this morning. Following a relaunch assembly of The Gomer Mile, led by Premier Education (who support much of our PE curriculum) every year group ran, walked or jogged the Gomer Mile. On a daily basis, children at Gomer will have the opportunity to record how many laps of the Gomer Mile course they have run. There will be a weekly celebration of this and the class with the most ‘laps’ will be congratulated. With thanks to our Sports Leaders, pictured above, for supporting the organisation of our morning.  Go Gomer!
