We love music at Gomer and have a Music Mark due to our commitment to music learning. We are delighted that we could start the school choir last week. The school choir now meets every Thursday at 8.15am in Mrs Gardner’s class. The children already sound delightful and are well led by Mr Paul Pilott (you can see his conducting hands to the right of the first photo!) – the Director of Music at St. Mary’s Church. We hope the choir will be able to perform publicly at some point this academic year. Singing in choirs is a forum for sharing, laughter and fun. And it provides a safe environment to try new skills. Singing also helps children’s memories. Practising musical patterns and rhythms helps form neurological pathways, with huge implications for children’s learning. Welcome back School Choir – we’ve missed you!
