Gomer was filled with festive cheer this afternoon due to its live streaming of the nativity – The Camel’s Arms. Every year group sang live which helped to tell the story of the nativity in a contemporary way. Wrapped around the live performances were some pre-recorded sketches and songs which told the story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus superbly – with an element of comedy too. We loved seeing the Year 3 art too. The school grounds were used superbly and the contemporary twist really added to the storytelling. The children looked wonderfully festive in their jumpers and headdresses and were watched by many people from around the country live. We learned from last year that watching the nativity online enables families from near and far to watch it, making it an incredibly inclusive and accessible event. If you missed the ‘live’ event, please do go and watch it following the link the school e mailed to you. Every child had the opportunity to watch the nativity this afternoon (other than when they were performing) because they may well like to watch it again also. They loved watching themselves on playback! With thanks to Team Gomer (big and small) for their efforts. An especially big THANK YOU to Mr Merrifiled for managing all of the technology and to Mrs Gardner for organising all of our beautiful singing.
