During Thursday’s class assembly, children were asked to think about what they know and understand about the British Values. Fundamental British Values underpin what it is to be a citizen in a modern and diverse Great Britain valuing our community and celebrating diversity of the UK. These values are Democracy, Rule of Law, Respect and Tolerance, Individual Liberty. Teachers asked children what they thought the British Values should be and why. Here is what they said:

  • Everyone having a voice and having chance to be heard
  • Respect one another
  • Listen
  • Show kindness
  • Have rules and laws so that we can all be safe
  • Treat others how you wish to be treated
  • Don’t judge others
  • Appreciate not only what we have but who we have in our community

During our house team assemblies, this half term, children will be learning more about and taking part in activities to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the British Values.
