Year 3 had an awesome visit to the Mary Rose today. The children discovered what life above and below decks on King Henry VIII’s favourite warship was like. They handled a wide range of replica artefacts to investigate how differently the officers and crew lived, worked and played at sea. The children loved dressing up with the replica Tudor clothing. We are so lucky to have so much fabulous history on our doorstep. Additionally, we were super proud to receive an e mail from a Australian holiday-maker who sent us this e mail:

‘I am visiting the United Kingdom from Australia. I was in the gift shop after an incredible day at the Dockyard where your young students were buying their souvenirs after their excursion. They were a credit to their school, teachers and their parents as their behaviour and politeness to the lady looking after them with their purchases was so noticeable and they queued up quietly without fuss. It was a long queue and the shop opened another register to help process their purchases. Be proud of them, they were as I said before, a credit to you. Kind Regards, Anne Scott.’

Thank you Ms Scott – we are really proud. Thank you for sharing your observations with us.
