Yesterday, we wrote to all our children and their adults to inform them of an important development for the Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust (GFM).

Currently, the Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust (GFM) consists of five schools:

  • Gomer Junior School;
  • Bay House School and Sixth Form;
  • Brune Park School;
  • Lord Wilson School;
  • Rowner Junior School.

We are excited to announce that the GFM will be joining with the King’s Group Academies, a well-established multi-academy trust comprising nine schools in Hampshire. This decision was formally approved by the Department for Education during the October half-term break, and we plan to officially join the King’s Group in April 2024.

While there will be little immediate change for the children in our schools, joining the King’s Group Academies presents us with exciting opportunities for enhanced school improvement and sharing best practices. It will also provide educational and financial benefits through economies of scale. We believe that this move is a significant step in the journey of strengthening our family of schools. We look forward to collaborating with the King’s Group Academies in the coming weeks and months. We will keep you updated on the progress as things develop.

To address any questions or concerns you may have, we are organising regular parent/carer drop-ins. These drop-ins will offer an informal platform for you to meet Nick Cross, the Chief Executive Officer of the King’s Group Academies, and ask any questions. The Gomer parental drop-in is scheduled for Thursday 30 November, 5pm – 6pm in The Hall. Alternatively, you are very welcome to attend the session at Rowner Junior School session on Tuesday 5 December, from 2pm to 3pm in The Hall

If you are unable to attend the drop-in, you can still participate by submitting your questions or comments via email to All questions received will be used to support the development of a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ document which will be published on the GFM website.
