Year 6 enjoyed their visit to Southampton’s leading interactive attraction and the home of Southampton’s Titanic story. They discovered the story of RMS Titanic and how the tragedy affected the city and people of Southampton. They explored an interactive model of the Titanic, recorded messages of its passengers of the fateful night, original objects from on board the world-famous ship and more. They also learned about 200,000 years of Southampton’s history, from Roman traders to Saxon settlers, to WWII and the introduction of the docks in the Gateway to the World and Southampton Stories. In the afternoon the children were off to find the wizard…! Wicked was wonderful and the children were impressed with the theatre production. They returned to an indoor ‘campout’ where they enjoyed their supper, games, dance and more. Many forgot to do the sleeping bit though…
