Last week, Year 5 had great fun building prototypes for their STEM project. As part of our humanities topic, children have been challenged to design defences for an Anglo Saxon village. Using their Engineering Habits of Mind (EHOM), they have found the problem and designed their solutions. Over the next couple of weeks, children will use their designs and learn from building their prototype, review their design and build their section of wall and present their designs to their peers. In Dragons Den style, we will then vote for the design we think would offer the best defences which will allow us to evaluate the strengths of each design and further improvements that could be made.
