Today, children cast their first vote in our Votes For Schools class assembly. Each week, children will be presented with a vote topic, discuss this topic in class with their teacher and then share their opinions and cast their votes. This vote topic will be revisited at the start of the next assembly so that children can see the national votes, hear comments from other schools and find out how their votes have been shared to have a real impact on decisions made for children. Through this weekly debating and voting, not only are our pupils learning about the world around them, they are becoming prepared for participating in our democratic processes, as they learn about themselves, others and the world around them.
