Year 3 children recently had the opportunity to visit St. Mary’s Church in Alverstoke, where they took part in an interactive RE role-play, guided by Rev. Andy. This enriching experience was connected to our current learning unit, Belonging, where the children explore where and how they belong, and discover how Christians use baptism as a symbol of belonging within their faith. The children were fully engaged as they participated in the role play, learning in a hands-on way that truly brought the concept of belonging to life. The Rev. Andy’s thoughtful teaching gave them an understanding of how a church community welcomes its members through this meaningful ritual. We know that experiential learning, like this visit, not only sparks curiosity but deepens understanding, encouraging knowledge retention. Thank you to the Rev. Andy and St. Mary’s Church for providing such a valuable and memorable experience for our youngest learners.
