We are thrilled to announce that George, a highly trained and friendly working Pets as Therapy dog, will be joining us in school, on a Monday afternoon, from next week! George will be spending time in our library with some of our children, offering a unique and heart-warming way to support their reading journey. We believe this is going to be a wonderful experience for our pupils, helping them to feel relaxed and confident as they read aloud to our furry visitor. George, along with his equally well-trained handler, will be visiting us regularly, and all necessary risk assessments have been carried out to ensure our children are settled and comfortable. This initiative has been designed with their wellbeing in mind, fostering a love of reading in a calm and supportive environment. Mrs Kidd is especially looking forward to welcoming George to our library. We are sure his presence will bring smiles to many faces and provide a special opportunity for our young readers to shine. We can’t wait for George’s first visit and are certain he will become a much-loved member of our school community. Keep an eye out for updates and photos of George in action and with thanks to Mrs Fry for organising this as an extension to our PD curriculum!
