Our Year 3 pupils recently embarked on an unforgettable experiential learning journey in their RE lessons, exploring the vibrant Hindu festival of Holi! Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours, is a joyful celebration that marks the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. It is a time of togetherness, where people gather to sing, dance, and throw brightly coloured powders in the air. The tradition of throwing paint stems from the legendary story of Krishna and Radha, symbolising love, joy, and the breaking down of social barriers.
To bring this learning to life, our Year 3 children took part in their own Holi-inspired colour-throwing activity! The excitement was contagious as the children embraced the spirit of the festival, covering each other (and themselves!) in a rainbow of colours. Laughter, joy, and a true sense of community filled the air as they experienced the fun and meaning behind this special festival. By the end of the session, there wasn’t a single child left untouched by colour – a true reflection of the happiness and togetherness that Holi represents. It was a magical, hands-on learning experience that our pupils will never forget!
A huge thank you to our staff for helping to create such a memorable moment. Happy Holi (for Friday 14 March)!
