Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome back the Open the Book team from St. Mary’s Church, who led our whole-school assembly with another inspiring Bible story. As always, our wonderful Year 4 children took part in the performance, acting out the story of The Widow’s Coins beautifully. Their costumes looked fantastic, and they brought the story to life with confidence and expression – we are so proud of them!
The story shared an important message about generosity and the value of giving, even when you have very little. It reminded us that small acts of kindness and selflessness can have great meaning, and that giving from the heart matters more than how much we give. Why not ask your child to retell the story to you and talk about what they think it means? It’s a lovely way to reflect together on gratitude, kindness, and helping others.
Thank you again to the Open the Book team – we’re already looking forward to your next visit!
