Year 3 have been getting creative this week as they explored the world of angles through music and art! Yesterday, the children discovered that an angle is the point where two lines meet. They had great fun using their homemade right-angle checkers, crafted from circles, to hunt for right angles all around the classroom.
Today, their angle knowledge grew as they investigated angles that were greater than a right angle (obtuse) and smaller than a right angle (acute). To help them remember, they learned a catchy new song to the tune of YMCA, which they performed with great enthusiasm!
The real excitement came when the children found mysterious angles had appeared overnight on their desks. Using their new knowledge and trusty angle checkers, they identified and sorted the angles, impressing all the adults with their confident explanations.
They even taught Miss Sewell their song. Who says maths can’t be musical?
