Our Year 3 children enjoyed a refreshing outdoor writing session today, making the most of the cool breeze on a warm summer’s day. Surrounded by nature, they gathered vivid vocabulary inspired by what they could see, hear and feel, using the soothing air and bright sunshine to fuel their imaginations. The focus of the session was on developing rich, descriptive language. The children drew inspiration from the vibrant, atmospheric landscapes painted by the Florida Highwaymen, using these striking images as a springboard for their own creative ideas. Being outside not only sparked their senses but also brought a new energy to their writing. It was a joyful way to explore the beauty of words and the world around us.
