On Tuesday Kerry Snuggs visited KA Gomer to deliver an inspiring assembly all about the Odyssey Challenge. Children discussed what they understood about the word disability and showed great understanding and awareness. They talked about the importance of kindness and shared things they already do to support those around them.

As a King’s Academy school of ‘character’, we place great value on kindness, so the Odyssey Challenge appealed to us immediately. The challenge encourages young people to get involved in the local community and support our emergency service workers through fundraising efforts. To complete the challenge, children can choose to:

  • Carry out either 30 or 50 acts of kindness
  • Visit a local disability sports club
  • Fundraise in a way of their choice to raise a minimum of £30 for the Intrepid Games charity

We are hoping to see as many of our children and families involved as possible. If you would like to take part, please sign your consent via the Google Form that has been sent out and await your Odyssey Challenge workbook.
