Our new School Council met for the first time this morning and what a brilliant start. The successful candidates were excited to share why they wanted to represent their classmates this year. Elsie is keen about the chance to meet the Mayor, while Leo and Sebastian are curious to find out what the role involves and how they can make a difference. Freddie has stepped out of his comfort zone to ‘just go for it’ in his final year at Gomer. Lottie knows she is kind and caring and wants to inspire that in others, with Lucy also eager to promote kindness across our community. Henry is looking forward to hearing everyone’s ideas and seeing what positive changes the Council can bring.
The team already has their first exciting opportunity: next week they will meet a visitor from the Department for Education. Councillors have been encouraged to prepare questions and to think about something they love about our school to share during the visit. We’re proud of their enthusiasm and can’t wait to see what they achieve this year.
