We are so proud of our Service Club, who have been busy creating beautiful handmade poppies that will be displayed at HMS Sultan as part of their Remembrance commemorations.
The poppy is a powerful symbol of remembrance and hope, representing those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present. It reminds us to honour their courage and commitment, and to be thankful for the peace and freedoms we enjoy today.
This act of remembrance holds special meaning within our school community, where many of our children come from service families. It’s a time for us to reflect together, to show our respect, and to recognise the strength, resilience, and pride that service life brings.
In addition to their creative work, our Service Club are also helping to raise funds for the Royal British Legion by selling poppies and related merchandise during breaktimes this week. Children are warmly encouraged to purchase and wear a poppy with their uniform, particularly on Tuesday 11 November, when we will come together for our moment of remembrance.
We are incredibly proud of the Service Club for their thoughtful work and contribution. Their poppies will stand proudly as a sign of remembrance, gratitude, and unity across our school and local community.
