At King’s Academy Gomer, we are thrilled to share some very exciting news! Every year, our children take part in our local MP Dame Caroline Dinenage’s Christmas card competition (available to all loal schools to enter). We are no strangers to this event. Spoiler alert (!): this year, one of our very own Year 3 learners has taken the top spot! Our talented winner created a stunning and winning robin design. However, the surprise didn’t stop there. Thinking she was heading to the Hall for singing practice, our unsuspecting winner was greeted instead by Dame Caroline! Not only was she presented with a chocolate gift and an invitation to tea at The House of Lords, but she also discovered that her design is currently being transformed into this year’s official Christmas card. What made the moment even more special was a surprise appearance by her mum, who had sneakily joined the presentation. The children did sing and beautifully so and heard about how Dame Caroline represents her local constituents. We can’t wait to see this beautiful robin design come to life as a Christmas card, and if you’re on Dame Caroline’s Christmas card list, you’re in for a real treat this year. Go Gomer! We are so proud of our creative community.
