This term’s Coding Club has kicked off with an exciting project where our talented young coders created their very own mini football players! The children followed step-by-step instructions to build the footballers and added their own creative adaptations to personalise the designs. Once the builds were complete, the focus turned to coding. The children programmed their footballers to kick a ball when a button was pressed, thinking carefully about the movements needed and how to translate these into code. A key part of the learning involved understanding the ‘take shortest path back to 0’ block, which ensured the footballer’s arm reset correctly after each kick – an essential skill for creating smooth and functional movements. Resilience and problem-solving were put to the test as our coders tackled bugs and technical challenges along the way. Their determination paid off, and soon everyone was ready to put their creations to the test in some thrilling mini matches! A huge well done to all our coders for their hard work, creativity, and teamwork. We are so proud of what you have achieved so far this term! Keep up the amazing learning, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll create next!
