Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate all the fantastic girls and women in our Gomer community. We recognise the strength, resilience, and brilliance of every girl and woman who makes our school such a special place.

To mark the occasion, we held a football event at lunchtime yesterday, giving our girls the chance to get active, have fun, and embrace the sport. We were thrilled to see 44 girls take part in a fantastic carousel of activities, showcasing their enthusiasm and teamwork. This was the fourth annual event we have participated in – dedicated to encouraging as many girls as possible to play football. With thanks Mrs Lethbridge for caching another fun-filled session and to Mr Merrifield for encouraging the girls.

We are incredibly proud of our girls’ football team and remain committed to encouraging girls in sport and all their endeavours. Sport empowers, unites, and inspires—and today, we celebrate the power of girls playing football!
