Our whole school transition was successful last week, and we thoroughly enjoyed having Year 2 with us. Our new Year 3 pupils had the opportunity to spend time with their new Year 6 buddies. The buddy system at KA Gomer is designed to help our younger children feel welcomed, supported, and part of the Gomer Team from the very beginning. It offers them a familiar face to turn to; whether they need reassurance, worry, or simply want a friendly chat.

Our Year 6 students were super in regards to their leadership, guiding their younger peers through a variety of fun and engaging activities. From reading together to playing table tennis, mini tennis, and even taking part in a rock-paper-scissors competition and blind drawing challenges.

These buddy partnerships will continue in September, with Year 6 checking in to ensure their buddies are settling in well. It’s a meaningful connection that supports both age groups and contributes to the strong sense of community we value at KA Gomer. Go Gomer!
