We were delighted to welcome our wonderful Service Families into school for our end-of-year gathering. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to meet informally, parents, carers, staff, and children, coming together to eat, chat and share with one another.
The children particularly enjoyed the snacks and the chance to play freely, surrounded by friends who understand and share similar experiences. The event served as a reminder of the importance of our children being together for one another and with one another.
We were especially pleased to be joined by Lucy from Reading Force, a fantastic charity that supports Forces families through the power of shared reading. Reading Force encourages families to keep connected during challenging times, particularly when a loved one is deployed, by sharing books and recording thoughts, drawings and memories in scrapbooks. Thanks to Reading Force, every child received a special gift, a brand new book and a keepsake scrapbook, perfect for summer holiday reading, creativity and connection.
We are proud of our Gomer community and grateful for the strength, kindness and resilience our Service Families bring to school life. We look forward to continuing to support and celebrate you in the year ahead. And give thanks to Miss Hall, who meets with our children weekly.
