A heartfelt thank you to all the families who kindly supported this year’s Rotary Shoebox Appeal. Thanks to your generosity, we have donated 16 filled shoeboxes and a large bag of miscellaneous items which enough to make up at least four more boxes! We are so proud of our caring school community.
June from Rotary has asked us to pass on her thanks to all the parents and children who took part. The shoeboxes will soon be heading to Ukraine and areas of Poland, where they will be shared with children and families who have been displaced by conflict. The collection took place a little earlier this year as many of the children are now scattered across different regions.
We know it isn’t possible for families to support every charity, which is why we organise a variety of charitable events throughout the year. This gives families the option to contribute where and when they can and helps our children learn about others, developing empathy, global awareness, and an understanding of how their actions can make a difference. Being charitable, with our donations of time or physical support, reminds us how small acts of compassion can make a big difference, which something our children understand so well.
