We were delighted to welcome Sir Roger Fry, founder of KGA, to KA Gomer for a very special visit. Sir Roger Fry is the visionary behind our family of schools, and he is passionate about providing children with the very best opportunities, both in and beyond the classroom. It was a pleasure to share with him the fantastic work happening across our school. He is photographed proudly holding the KGA MAT of the Year Award.
During his visit, Sir Roger spent time with our International Dimension Ambassadors, who spoke confidently about our Air We Breathe programme. He was particularly interested in our air quality monitor, which tracks readings throughout the day. As part of a national project across KGA academies, we are sharing this data to better understand our environment. Interestingly, our findings suggest that air quality is lower at drop-off and pick-up times, likely due to emissions from cars.
Sir Roger was given a thorough tour of the school by our Head Boy and Head Girl, who represented KA Gomer with pride and professionalism. He also enjoyed a lovely lunch with our Executive Headteacher, Mrs Mulhall, and our Parent and Safeguarding Governor, Mr Justin Allen.
One of the highlights of the visit was Sir Roger’s fascination with our 3D printers. Having only recently seen one at our family academy, KA Rowner, he was excited to see them in action for the first time. He was holding the 3D printed gift KA Rowner gave him, tied neatly with Gomer blue ribbon…
Thank you, Sir Roger, for your continued interest and support. We always enjoy your visits and are proud to share all that we do at KA Gomer.
