At King’s Academy Gomer, we are proud to promote a healthy, safe and positive environment for all children, families, staff and visitors.
As many families will already know, it is against the law to smoke on school premises. Schools have been legally required to be smoke-free since 2007, helping to protect children and young people from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke. In recent years, vaping has also become much more common. While vaping is often marketed as an alternative to smoking for adults, it is not appropriate on school sites.
To help reinforce this message, you will now notice new signs displayed around the school site reminding everyone that King’s Academy Gomer is both cigarette-free and vape-free. This includes all indoor and outdoor areas of the school grounds.
We would like to thank our families and visitors for supporting us with this. By working together, we can continue to provide a healthy and welcoming environment for our whole school community.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
