Today, we were delighted to welcome 132 Special Gomer Men to school for one of our favourite annual events ahead of Father’s Day this Sunday.
This special occasion gives children the opportunity to spend time in school with an important male figure in their lives, sharing lunch together and creating memories that we hope will last for years to come. We know that every family is different, and it was wonderful to see such a wide range of special people joining us, including dads, stepdads, grandads, uncles, godparents and many others who play an important role in supporting and caring for our children.
The glorious weather certainly helped make the afternoon extra special. After lunch, the field was full of laughter, play and activity as children and their special guests enjoyed spending quality time together. It was lovely to see so many conversations, games and smiles being shared across the school grounds.
We were also pleased to welcome members of the local press, who came to cover the event. Please keep an eye out for our story in the newspaper and on their website in the coming days.
As Father’s Day approaches, we would like to wish all of our families a wonderful weekend. We also recognise that Father’s Day can be a difficult time for some members of our community, and we are thinking of those families for whom this day may bring mixed emotions.
