Last week, Year 6 had the most amazing time during their residential trip to Tile Barn. Across the three days, the children threw themselves into a range of activities, including archery, water rockets, a woodland walk, low ropes, crate stacking and wall climbing. Each activity offered the children the chance to challenge themselves, support one another and celebrate their successes.

The fun did not stop when the activities ended. Evenings were spent outside making the most of the space, with an impromptu disco, Nerf balls, frisbees and plenty of laughter. The children loved staying in their comfortable accommodation, with four children sharing each pod, and the food was a real highlight. From pulled pork fajitas and burgers to breakfast hash browns, there was plenty to enjoy and lots of very happy faces at mealtimes.

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, which stayed on our side all week. Although the excitement meant there was not quite as much sleep as we might have hoped, the children continued to work tirelessly and energetically throughout every activity. Over the three days, it was wonderful to see the children grow in confidence. Their teamwork, resilience and communication improved with every challenge they faced. Most importantly, the trip was filled with big smiles, laughter and memories that will last a long time.

Year 6 did themselves proud. They were regularly complimented on their manners and behaviour, and they represented our school brilliantly. With huge thanks to the members of staff who volunteered their afternoons and evenings to make this residential possible.
