Last week, we were delighted to welcome a group of Year 10 students from King’s Academy Bay House and Fareham Academy for their work experience placements. It was especially lovely to see Gomer alumni among them! The students quickly became part of our school community and made a real difference during their time with us. They supported children with reading, provided valuable 1:1 tutoring, and carried out a wide range of helpful jobs that keep a busy school running smoothly. At breaktimes, they were a huge asset, organising and playing games with the children and being excellent role models throughout.

Work experience is such an important opportunity. It allows young people to explore different career paths, develop confidence and responsibility, and gain insight into the world of work. We are pleased to hear that some of the students are now considering a future in teaching.

A big thank you to each of them. They were hardworking, polite, and a pleasure to have around. Our children loved spending time with them, and we wish them all the very best in their next steps.
