King’s Academy Gomer was full of colour, creativity and excitement as pupils and staff came together to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday.
It was wonderful to see so many children dressed as their favourite book characters, sharing their love of stories and bringing books to life throughout the school. From classic characters to modern favourites, the effort and imagination shown by everyone made the day special. Across the school, pupils took part in a range of activities designed to celebrate reading. Classes shared stories together, talked about their favourite books and explored new authors and genres. These moments help children see that reading is not only an important skill but also something to enjoy.
At Gomer, reading is at the heart of learning. It opens the door to new ideas, builds vocabulary and imagination, and helps children understand the world around them. Events like World Book Day remind us how powerful books can be in inspiring curiosity and creativity. A huge thank you to our families for supporting the day and helping the children take part. Seeing so many enthusiastic readers enjoying books together was a real highlight.
We hope the excitement of World Book Day encourages our pupils to keep reading, keep exploring stories and keep discovering new adventures through books.
