Our school playing field turned into a vibrant rainbow on Tuesday as we celebrated Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colours. Throughout the day, children learned about the meaning behind this joyful festival, which is celebrated by Hindus around the world to mark the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Holi usually takes place in March, following the full moon, and is known for its bright colours, laughter and sense of togetherness.
The children were particularly captivated by the story of Prahlad and the demoness Holika, which reminds us that goodness, courage and faith can overcome wrongdoing. It was wonderful to see this powerful message come to life through learning, discussion and celebration.
Of course, the highlight was taking part in our own colourful moment on the field. Clouds of bright powder filled the air as children laughed, played and celebrated together. It was a fantastic way to bring learning to life and to reflect on the importance of kindness, individuality and community.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration so memorable.
