Yesterday, we came together as a whole school community to celebrate something special: thirty incredible years of service from our wonderful Mrs Austin. Thirty years. That’s generations of children, thousands of families, and countless staff who have been welcomed, supported and cared for by the calm, kind and ever-smiling presence at the heart of our school office.
Mrs Austin really is the ‘Queen of the Office’. She has been the one who always knows the answer, solves the problem, finds the missing jumper, calms worries, and somehow keeps everything running smoothly (often with a well-timed cup of tea too!). Our celebration assembly was full of laughter, memories and appreciation. From poems and stories to some brilliant ‘Mrs Austin maths’ (did you know she’s made over 2,000 cups of tea and sent tens of thousands of emails?!), it was a wonderful way to reflect on just how much she has given to KA Gomer over the years.
What stood out most, though, was not just what she has done, but who she is. Warm, professional, endlessly patient, and always with a sense of humour, Mrs Austin has helped make our school the safe, happy and welcoming place it is today. Mrs Austin – thank you.
Thank you for your care, your dedication, and the difference you have made to so many lives. We will miss you hugely, but we are so excited for you as you begin this next chapter. You have more than earned it!
Wishing you a happy, relaxing and adventure-filled retirement. With love from everyone at KA Gomer.
