We were pleased to welcome Kerry Snuggs back to King’s Academy Gomer this week, joined by firefighters from Gosport Fire Station, to celebrate the amazing achievements of our children who completed the Odyssey Challenge.

Following the inspiring launch in September, many of our pupils fully embraced the challenge. They demonstrated our school values in action by completing numerous acts of kindness, both in school and within the wider community. From small, thoughtful gestures to meaningful support for others, their efforts truly reflected what it means to be part of a King’s Academy ‘character’ school.

Children also deepened their understanding of disability and inclusion, learning more about Paralympic sports and the importance of opportunity and respect for all. This powerful learning has helped to build empathy, awareness, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. In addition, many pupils took on fundraising challenges, raising money for the Intrepid Games. Their enthusiasm and determination made a real difference, and we are so proud of the impact they have had.

The highlight of the visit was seeing our children receive their well-earned medals, presented by Kerry and our local firefighters. It was a moment of celebration, recognition, and pride for all involved. One of our children was given an extra special medal because they were so impressed that she had donated her hair to charity.

Well done to everyone who took part. You have made a difference and shown the power of kindness in action.
