Our Year 6 Service Children recently had the opportunity to attend the Gosport Community Hub at King’s Academy Brune Park. The Community Hub brings together Service Children and Service Families from local schools, providing a welcoming environment where they can meet others who share similar experiences and build new friendships.
The Hub offers valuable support as children prepare for the next stage of their education. For our pupils who will be moving on to King’s Academy Bay House in September, the visit was a super opportunity to meet other Service Children who will be joining the school. Making these connections ahead of transition can help children feel more confident and excited about the move to secondary school.
The children had a wonderful time, enjoying a range of activities and getting to know their peers from across the Gosport area. They particularly enjoyed meeting members of the King’s Group Academies Service Children Team, who work hard to support Service families throughout their educational journey. We are grateful to everyone involved in organising the event and helping our pupils feel so welcome. We know the friendships made during the visit will help make the transition to secondary school even smoother.
