A huge thank you to our wonderful FROGS (Friends of Gomer School) for treating every child to a refreshing ice pole during this week’s hot weather on Wednesday. It was a much-appreciated and certainly helped everyone stay cool! And, the end of week ice-lollies and ice-cream treat on Friday was appreciated very much too.

We would also like to say a massive well done to all of our children. They coped brilliantly with the exceptionally warm temperatures, showing great maturity by following our hot weather routines and helping to look after one another.

At breaktimes we played a game of “The Sun is Lava!”, encouraging everyone to stay in the shade as much as possible. We are lucky to have lots of natural shade at our school. For those children who just couldn’t resist running around, we made sure they had regular hydration breaks to top up their water bottles before heading off to play again.

Thank you to our staff, families and children for working together to keep everyone safe during the heatwave.

We’re very pleased that the weather is now a little cooler, and we’re looking forward to enjoying the rest of the term together!
