We were pleased to mark the European Day of Languages with a celebration of diversity and global awareness! The children had the fantastic opportunity to learn and share a variety of international greetings, bringing languages from all corners of the world into our classrooms.

To further enrich the experience, we linked these greetings to flag work and a little geography, as the children explored where these countries are on the map. This hands-on approach allowed them to understand the global significance of the languages they were learning.

At Gomer we believe that languages play a vital role in helping children understand the world around them. Learning different languages not only broadens children’s communication skills but also deepens their appreciation of other cultures. This is a key part of our commitment to fostering an International Dimension in our curriculum, helping every child understand their place as a global citizen – with thanks to Mrs Mawby for leading this exciting new curriculum development. We are proud to promote a school environment that values everyone, celebrates diversity, and embraces the richness that comes from different cultures and languages. Here’s to nurturing the next generation of plurilingual citizens! 🌍
