Yesterday, our Year 4 pupils enjoyed a special Christingle service at St Mary’s Church, beautifully led by Rev. Andy. We were delighted to welcome so many parents and carers who joined us which made the occasion even more meaningful.

The children sang beautifully, filling the church with warmth and confidence, and our prayer readers were wonderfully clear and thoughtful. As part of the service, we recapped our learning about Christingle: the orange that represents the world, the red ribbon symbolising God’s love, the sweets reminding us of the fruits of the earth, and the candle representing Jesus as the Light of the World.

Mrs Mulhall also spoke with the children about what light can mean in our own lives, hope, courage, comfort and how we can manage feeling unsure or scared of the dark by remembering the things that make us feel safe and supported.

We extend our thanks to all families who kindly sent in pennies for The Children’s Society. Your generosity helps support vulnerable children across the country.
