What a super sight it was at King’s Academy Gomer for our Be Bright, Be Seen day! The children looked fantastic, proudly wearing bright and colourful accessories alongside their school uniforms. From hats and scarves to gloves and bags, the children did look bright and ready to be seen.

With dark mornings and darker afternoons still very much with us, we took the opportunity to remind children just how important it is to be visible when out and about. Wearing bright colours, reflective items and checking bike lights can make a real difference in keeping everyone safe on the journey to and from school. By taking part so enthusiastically, the children showed real integrity, making sensible choices to keep themselves and others safe, and living out our values of Honesty, Faith and Courage in a practical, everyday way.

Alongside this, we also held our much-anticipated ‘Bling Your Ride’ competition. Children decorated their bikes, scooters and bags at home using ribbons, stickers and bright materials they already had. The results were super: creative, colourful and eye-catching! A huge thank you goes to Bike It John and our JRSOs, who carefully looked at all the scooters, bicycles and bags during the day and left winning tickets on those that really stood out. It was a lovely surprise for the children to discover at the end of the day, and there were prizes too! We are also very grateful to Bike It John and his assistant for carrying out bicycle repairs, helping to keep our riders safe.

Well done, Gomer, for embracing such an important safety message with enthusiasm and style.

Stay safe, Gomer and remember: Be Bright, Be Seen!
