
Our Year 6 pupils have started their Aerobic Gymnastics unit in PE, and the energy in the hall is electric! To build a strong foundation, we have spent our first few sessions focusing on the following areas of gymnastics: strength, balance, coordination, and technique. It has not just been about jumps and turns; our pupils have been working hard on their core stability through a series of competitive games and activities involving the plank, dish and arch shapes and partner balances. We have seen some incredible determination, trust in our partners developing and improvements already in our core strength and stability. Over the coming weeks, the children will begin choreographing their own short routines, blending their new strength and balance skills with aerobic steps. We can’t wait to see the creativity and athleticism Year 6 will bring to the floor!
