As part of our recent whole-school Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Day, Year 4 pupils put their creativity and design and technology (DT) skills to excellent use by designing a vibrant range of colourful onesies. The children carefully considered pattern, imagery and colour, creating an eye-catching collection of designs that reflected both creativity and purpose. This work followed our TypeONEsie Day, where pupils and staff came to school wearing onesies, pyjamas and oodies to help raise awareness and funds for a Type 1 Diabetes charity.
Alongside the creative activities, pupils also took part in important Personal Development (PD) learning. They learned how to recognise the signs of Type 1 Diabetes, how it is managed, and how they can show understanding and support for others. It was a fantastic day of learning, creativity and compassion, with pupils showing real engagement in an important health awareness campaign while contributing to a meaningful charitable cause.
