We are proud of our growing partnership with La Salle College Paterna in Spain as part of our commitment to developing global citizens through our International Dimension curriculum. This week, our Year 5 pupils took part in an exciting collaborative project with their Spanish friends. Working alongside teachers from both schools, children created presentations about some of their favourite things. Topics included songs, drama, famous people, recipes and films.

The children worked in small groups to create engaging presentations that showcased their interests and gave our Spanish partners a glimpse into life and culture in the UK. Along the way, many pupils also explored Google Translate, developing new digital skills and learning how technology can help people communicate across different languages and countries.

The project sparked lots of excitement and curiosity as pupils shared their work and viewed presentations created by the children in Spain.

Some of our Year 5 pupils said:

“I really loved making the slides about my favourite pet and sharing it with the Spanish school.”

“I hope the Spanish children like our presentation about Shrek!”

“I can’t wait to try and make the Spanish omelette recipe.”

“They did a slide on Clash Royale – I can’t believe they did the same as us!”

Projects like this help our pupils recognise both the similarities and differences between young people around the world. They encourage curiosity, communication and respect for other cultures while building friendships beyond our own community.
